Privacy Policy

Link Aloud is an iPhone and iPad reading app from Roscommon Group LLC. We do not operate a backend for your readings, collect analytics, show ads, or require an app account.

Pasted text, extracted article text, reading progress and your listening queue are saved on your device. From build 8, English narration uses two neural voices bundled with the app, Aster and Vale, powered by the open-source Kokoro model. Speech is generated on your device; the model and these voices do not require a separate download. Other languages use available installed Apple voices. Earlier builds use Apple voices for all languages. Downloading additional Apple voices in iOS Settings uses Apple’s services. Reading and voice previews do not use a cloud narration service, and generated audio is held in memory rather than saved as an audio file. We do not send this content to an AI provider or to Roscommon Group. From build 7, the app excludes its reading library and shared-reading inbox from future device backups. Copies already present in older backups are not removed by this change and remain subject to your Apple backup settings. Voice preferences and purchase records are separate from reading content.

When you import a link, the app contacts that website directly over HTTPS. The website receives normal connection information, such as your IP address and the requested URL, under its own privacy policy. Link Aloud does not use your Safari login or cookies, and does not execute downloaded page scripts or load remote page resources during extraction. Opening the original source link in your browser is governed by your browser settings.

When you choose Link Aloud in another app’s share sheet, the selected URL or text is stored in a protected container shared only by Link Aloud and its share extension. The app prepares it when you next open Link Aloud with active access. Pending shares remain available to retry or remove; successful imports remove the pending copy. Sharing does not start speech automatically.

Clipboard content is accessed when you choose to paste. The app does not monitor your clipboard. Lock-screen audio controls can display the current reading title.

Apple processes subscriptions, introductory trial offers and previously issued standalone trial or lifetime purchases, and provides verified transaction and subscription-status information to the app. We do not receive payment card details. Trial eligibility and subscriptions are linked to your Apple Account.

You can delete saved readings and remove queue items in the app. Removing a queue item does not delete the saved reading. Deleting the app removes its local data, subject to any copies in device backups. No CloudKit synchronization is used.

These website pages are hosted by Cloudflare Pages and use the Roscommon website’s Google Analytics integration. Website providers may process IP addresses, browser and device details, referrals, cookies and page interactions. Those analytics tools are not embedded in the native app.
